About Miner Alumni Scholarship MST

The Alumni Heritage Scholarship is designed to alleviate the financial burden of nonresident tuition at S&T for individuals who are the offspring or descendants of alumni who currently reside outside of the state of Missouri.

The university-funded scholarship is a benevolent initiative that offers a yearly monetary award of $1,000 to eligible candidates for a duration of four years or eight semesters, contingent upon the fulfilment of annual renewal requirements and the student’s status as a full-time nonresident tuition-paying student.

The scholarship is accessible alongside any university scholarships, departmental scholarships, or external rewards that a student may be granted. No supplementary application is required provided that the student has already submitted their application for admission, explicitly stated their status as a descendant of an alumnus or alumna, and possesses an ACT score of 24 or higher and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Prospective transfer students who have accumulated a minimum of 24 college credit hours prior to their enrollment at S&T will also be taken into consideration.

Scholarship: Class of ’50 Scholarship

Steven T. Beetz

The scholarship has proven to be crucial in facilitating my personal and professional development, enabling me to forge a more promising trajectory for myself and potentially make a positive impact on others.

During the previous academic year, there has been a notable change in the composition of my financial aid package, with a greater emphasis on loans as opposed to scholarships and grants, while maintaining a perfect grade point average of 4.0 and actively participating in extracurricular activities.

In light of the prevailing economic challenges, it is noteworthy that the Class of ’50 Scholarship has granted me an unaltered amount of financial assistance, like the previous year.

This recognition holds significant value as it affirms that my diligent efforts continue to contribute towards my advancement and achievement. Moreover, it instilled in me the aspiration to eventually extend similar support to individuals in circumstances akin to my own.

Matt Rost

I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for your invaluable contributions in transforming my aspiration of pursuing a career as an Engineer into a tangible achievement.

I originate from a family of moderate economic means, which lacks the financial resources to support the higher education of three offspring, however, I do not meet the criteria for eligibility to obtain governmental assistance.

It is also probable that a significant portion of the audience shares a common experience of coming from comparable socio-economic origins, hence acknowledging the challenges associated with financing higher education.

I would not have the means to finance this exceptional education were it not for the provision of this scholarship. I aspire to emulate your achievements and contribute to the esteemed institution in the future.

Scholarship: Rayferd D. Routh

Carl Lacy

I am obsessed with my school and its extracurriculars, which I think make it excellent. My situation would be worse without your money. Due to my dual major (MetE/ME), I will stay here longer than expected and pay more for school. Well-off alumni assist me financially and encourage me, which is good. I aspire to be in the same situation someday. Thank you again.

Scholarship: Elaine & Warren Rutz Scholarship

The college has always been my family’s and my aim. My family has always been poor, and my father works six weeks a week as a semi-truck driver, only coming home on weekends.

Since I was the first in my extended family to attend college, my family was thrilled to learn that I was eligible for scholarships and grants.

The Miner Alumni Association scholarship gave us enough money to send me to MS&T, which we all know is a great school. Thank you.

Scholarship: Clyde W. Hall

As a senior, I realised how much scholarship helped shape my college journey. I think my resume wouldn’t be as powerful without this backing. Without a heavy employment schedule in college, I could focus on school and extracurriculars.
